Black Forest ham originated in Germany and was originally manufactured by Hans Alder from Bonndorf in 1959. It has been imitated by pork producers around the world and has become a favourite sandwich meat the world over. Black Forest Ham has a distinctive red color and is marked with streaks of fat. A boneless ham, its meat is traditionally smoked when raw, giving it an instantly recognizable smoky flavor and aroma. Sold in 250 gram (approx. 1/2 Lb) vacuum sealed packages.
